Attack End Regular Season in a Close Game Against Guelph
The Attack would make quite the splash at the Bayshore as they made an action packed game against Guelph Storm. Ending in an overtime win, the Storm would put the nail in the Attack’s coffin with a 7-6 final score. Although the Attack would not win overall, they would still put in the work to earn a high scoring rate. Deni Goure, would finish the game with a three-point hat-trick as well as an assist. Following for the Attack would be Sam McCue, Colby Barlow, and Ethan Burroughs, as with one goal each. In net, finishing the regular season for the Attack would be Carter George, making 26 saves of 33 shots from Guelph.
Goure would set the pace of the game scoring less than a minute into the first period, with the aid of his fellow OA teammates Sedley and Burroughs. Setting up for a second appearance, passing up to Burroughs taking a shot that would hit the shoulder of Guelph goalie. Making a rebound shot off of the shoulder hit, Goure would bring another Attack goal to the scoreboard. The first period would end with the Attack leading 2-0 over the Guelph Storm as more would come in the second period.
Making lead-way, fans would see Storm come back with three goals of their own early in the second period. Taos Jordan would pass from Attack territory up to forward Landen Hookey who would find an opening up to Ben Cormier. Cormier would have the shot rebound off off the Storm’s Goalie, giving McCue an open corner to sink the puck into the back of the net. The Attack would find themselves in a power play position, as Barlow, making a one-timer would bring the Attack their fourth goal of the game. Nearing the end of the second period, the Attack would be awarded a penalty shot that would be taken by Burroughs. Making his way down the ice, Burroughs would find great success and a goal for the Attack. This would leave the Attack up by 1 over the Storm in the second period with a 5-3 score.
Storm would quickly catch up with two additional goals of their own in the early third period. Goure would step in making his third goal of the night, earning him his hat-trick label at the halfway point. Guelph would tie up the score with under 5 minutes left in the third, ultimately winning in an OT of sudden death.
As the Attack had previously clinched, fans will see the Bears at a later date during Playoffs. Dates, times as well as opponents are prone to change for Playoffs.
