Week 2 Preview: Attack Prepare for Bulldogs & Rangers
The Owen Sound Attack head into week 2 of the OHL regular season with reason for optimism having played solid in your face hockey at both ends of the rink in both games on opening weekend. Week 2 for the Attack will see them head to Brantford on Friday night to take on the Bulldogs, then return home on Saturday night for a midwest division battle against the Kitchener Rangers. Saturday night at the Bayshore is Country Night with the first 3,000 fans into the game receiving an Owen Sound Attack Cowboy hat.
To be successful this weekend, the Attack will need to continue their strong 200-foot play and score by committee. They will also look to the goaltending tandem of Carter George and Matthew Koprowski to be solid between the pipes.
The Attack make their only trip to the Telephone City this season on Friday night, where they will take on the number-8 ranked team in the CHL the Brantford Bulldogs. The Bulldogs head into the weekend with a 1-1-0-0 record having lost to CHL’s #1 ranked Brampton Steelheads and defeated the The Attack will look to continue their solid 60-minute play and will need to play close attention to the Bulldogs top players, Patrick Thomas, Owen Protz, Jake O’Brien and Nick Lardis who all had multiple points in the opening weekend. They will also need to find a solution for recently acquired Ryerson Leenders who is now backstopping the Bulldogs. Friday nights game can be seen locally on Rogers TV Georgian Bay (Channel 53), streamed on CHLtv or heard on the radio or online on 560CFOS Bear Radio.
The Bears will finish their back-to-back set with a battle against the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday night at the Bayshore. The Rangers head into the weekend with an identical record to the Attack having dropped their opening weekend games 5-2 to the Erie Otters and 12-2 to the Windsor Spitfires. The Rangers offence was led by forwards Luke Ellinas and Luca Romano and defensemen Cameron Reid who all tallied two points in the two games. The Attack will also have to be aware of Adrian Misaljevic and Matthew Andonovski. Saturday night will be Country night at the Bayshore with the first 3,000 fans recieving a free Owen Sound Attack Cowboy hat upon entry.
