Winterhawks sign Aidan Potash to WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement

Portland, Ore. – The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club is proud to announce the signing of defenseman Aidan Potash to a WHL Scholarship and Development agreement.

Potash, 15, hails from Kelowna, British Columbia. Last season with the Okanagan Rockets U15 AAA team, Potash produced 20 goals and 32 assists for 52 points in 28 games played. He also played 10 games with the U18 AAA team. The Winterhawks selected Potash 38th overall in the second round of the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.

“We believe Aidan has upside to be a number-one defenseman in the WHL,” Winterhawks President and General Manager Mike Johnston said. “He has excellent offensive skills, always making a good first pass, and with his size, he will be tough to beat defensively.”

Standing at 6’2” and weighing 195 pounds, Potash brings an imposing frame to the ice every night.
