Calgary, AB – The Edmonton Oil Kings play the second half of a big home and home with the Calgary Hitmen tonight in Calgary. Edmonton will be looking to right some wrongs following a 5-2 loss to the Hitmen on home ice last night in the 6th Annual Dodge Teddy Bear Toss presented by Global Edmonton & Shaw Media.

Sophomore Curtis Lazar has 13 goals and 10 assists in 2012-13. After some struggles in November Lazar has posted five goals in his last 3 games in December. Last season Lazar posted 31 pts (20G, 11A) in the regular season before a sensational playoff that saw him lead the team with 8 goals and 11 assists en route to the 2012 WHL Championship.
Last season the Oil Kings posted a 5-1-0-0 record against the Hitmen. Tonight Edmonton will look to improve on their record of 0-2-1-1 vs the Hitmen in 2012-13. In their first meeting – Edmonton suffered a 4-1 loss on Sept. 28th at Rexall Place. The second round of the “Battle of Alberta” saw the Oil Kings drop a wild 6-5 overtime decision on Thanksgiving Sunday. In a back and forth battle TJ Foster put on a show as he tallied the first four goal game in Oil Kings modern franchise history. In their last meeting prior to last night the Kings fell 5-4 in a shootout at Rexall Place on Oct.12th.
Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Calgary – Tune into the Team 1260 for all the action from the Saddledome with the voice of the Oil Kings – Corey Graham. All games this season will be broadcast live on the TEAM 1260 and streamed live at WHL.ca.

The Kings make their return to the friendly confines on Wednesday, December 12 in another marquee WHL matchup. The Oil Kings will have their third and final regular season meeting with the Western Conference leading Kamloops Blazers. These teams split their first two meetings with the Kings taking a 2-1 win in Kamloops on November 6th. Kamloops is currently ranked 4th in the CHL Top Ten and continues to battle Portland for top spot in the WHL.

Season Seat Holders are reminded that the Never Waste A Ticket program has changed. You may redeem any unused tickets from the start of the season through Friday, December 27th by Monday, December 31st. You’ll be able to redeem second half unused tickets from January until the end of the regular season. It is recommended that fans drop by the Ticket Office at TELUS Field during regular business hours to avoid the game day rush.
