Sting Get Back To .500
After starting the season 1-4-0-0 the Sarnia Sting came into Saturday night’s game versus the Ottawa 67’s with a chance to get back to the .500 mark.
It wouldn’t take the Sting long to give their fans reason to believe they would get another win on home ice when Steven Stamkos scored a beautiful breakaway goal just 1:47 into the game.
The Sting wouldn’t trail from then on out as they would put together their most complete performance of the season beating the East Division leading 67’s 5-2.
Stamkos would add another goal and was named the games first start, while Jared Gomes, Harrison Reed and Daniel Lombardi would round out the Sting scoring.
Tomi Karhunen got the win in the Sting nets stopping 33 of 35 shots.
The Sting now look to get back over the .500 mark when they take on the Erie Otters this Thursday at the SSEC.
