Sting To Pay Tribute To Sarnia Legionnaires
Sarnia, ON The Sarnia Sting are pleased to announce that their game November 10th, 2007 versus the Kingston Frontenacs will be played in tribute to the service provided by Military personnel around the world.
A special jersey has been designed and approved by the OHL to commemorate the occasion and the tribute.
The jersey is a throwback replica of the 1967/68 Sarnia Legionnaires team and the game worn jerseys will be auctioned in the weeks following the November 10th game on the Sting website.
100% of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Sarnia Legion. The Legion is in the process of fundraising to acquire a van for use in shuttling veterans to events and medical appointments.
The jersey will also pay tribute to the Sarnia Legionnaire team who 40 years ago this season captured the Sutherland Cup.
The Sarnia Sting would like to include players from the 67-68 Sutherland Cup Champion Legionnaires to be a part of the night.
