GAME REPORT: Sting Dropped 4-3 in Sunday Matchup With 67’s
The Sarnia Sting visited the Ottawa 67’s on Sunday afternoon.
It was the home side who opened the scoring. With the 67’s on the powerplay, Mathieu Foget scored from high between the circles past Sting goaltender Justin Fazio.
Foget set up the the 67’s second goal of the period as well. The 67’s forward fed teammate Austen Keating with a quick pass from behind the net, and Ottawa increased their lead to 2-0 heading into the first intermission.
In the second period, Sam Bitten scored a little over a minute in for Ottawa. But, the Sting were ready to get themselves on the board.
Sting captain Jordan Kyrou fired a laser past 67’s goaltender Olivier Tremblay. It was Kyrou’s fifteenth goal and league-leading 36th point of the year.

Former Sting skater Sasha Chmelevski scored for Ottawa moments after, and the 67’s had a 4-1 lead.
In the third period, the Sting made a valiant comeback attempt.
Adam Ruzicka scored midway through the final frame on tremendous hustle play. Ruzicka beat out an icing call, picked up the puck at top speed, and finished off the goal with a wraparound into the Ottawa net.
When Fazio was pulled for the extra man, Drake Rymsha scored with thirty seconds left. It made a one-goal game, but the Barber Poles held on for the victory.
The final score this afternoon was 4-3 for Ottawa.
Fazio stopped 35 of 39 shots against. Sarnia was six for seven on the penalty kill.
