Molson Canadian Performers of the Month
The Owen Sound Attack has announced the Molson Canadian Performers of the Month for January.
Molson Canadian Player of the Month – Captain Garrett Wilson has been named January’s Molson Canadian Player of the Month. During the month, the Elmvale, ON. native tallied six goals to go along with twelve assists and a plus/minus rating of 1. Wilson was named the games first star on two occasions and was previously named the team’s Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week on two consecutive occasions. The Florida Panthers draft pick currently sits seventh in OHL scoring with 31 goals and 35 assists.
Molson Canadian Rookie of the Month – Despite playing four less games than most, forward Jarrod Maidens lead the Attack with a plus nine rating in the month of January. In nine games, the Attack’s first round draft choice collected a goal to go along with four assists and also collected his first OHL fighting major on September 22nd vs. the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. The Grimsby, ON. native currently has 5 goals, accompanied by 7 assists in 28 games this season.
Molson Canadian Defenseman of the Month – Overager Matt Stanisz has been named the clubs Molson Canadian defenseman of the Month for January. Stanisz, a Burlington, ON. native tallied a goal and six assists over thirteen games and was named the Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week once. The steady rearguard also tied for first among Attack defenders with a plus/minus rating of plus 6.
Molson Canadian Hardest Worker of the Month – Forward Liam Heelis has been named the club’s Hardest Working Player of the Month for January. The overage forward netted six goals and added three helpers to go along with a plus seven rating. The former Peterborough Pete was also named the first star in the Attack’s 6-3 win over the Erie Otters in January 29th.
