DALE DEGRAY – GENERAL MANAGER
Dale DeGray became the fifth General Manager in Owen Sound Attack history in July 2007, helping bring an Ontario Hockey League Championship to Owen Sound in May 2011 and a Western Conference Final appearance in 2017. Since becoming the General Manager, DeGray has insisted that all players have a community minded, team first attitude.
Entering his 15th season with the team, DeGray has managed the Attack to eleven straight 30-win seasons and eleven consecutive playoff appearances, a mark that has only been accomplished by two other team in the Canadian Hockey League during the same period. DeGray has also taken home league honours being name the OHL Executive of the Year in 2011.
DeGray, a native of Oshawa, Ontario, also has close ties to the Hockey Canada program, where he has been a part of the management team at the 2016 World Under-17 Challenge and the Gold Medal winning entry at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
Prior to joining the Attack, Dale DeGray spent five years as an amateur scout with the National Hockey Leagues Florida Panthers. DeGray played three seasons for his hometown Oshawa Generals, where his blue-collar work ethic allowed him to be drafted 162nd overall by the Calgary Flames in the 1981 NHL entry draft. He went on to play 153 NHL games, scoring 18 goals and tallying 47 assists. In total, DeGray spent 17 years playing professional hockey and then two as Coach/GM with the United Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

SCOTT WRAY – HEAD COACH
Wray joins the Attack as the team’s 17th Head Coach in franchise history, having spent the past eight seasons as an Assistant Coach with the North Bay Battalion, where he was a major part of the coaching staff that saw the Battalion reach the conference finals the past three seasons. Prior to this, he spent three seasons as the Head Coach of the Powassan Voodoos, leading them to a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League title in 2016-17, in just their third year of existence.
Originally a fourth-round pick, 55th overall by the Owen Sound Platers in the 1996 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, Wray played 21 games in the Scenic City, tallying 3 goals and 1 assist before being traded to the North Bay Centennials in the middle of his first season. Wray went on to play another 158 OHL games with the Centennials and the Plymouth Whalers, finishing with 41 career goals and 49 career assists.
After completing his OHL career at the end of the 1999-00 season, Wray went on to play in six professional leagues including the ECHL, WPHL (Western Professional Hockey League), CHL (Central Hockey League), BNL (British National League), EIHL (Elite Ice Hockey League), UHL (Untied Hockey League), before retiring after the 2013-14 season, his fifth with the South Dakota-based Rapid City Rush.
Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Wray played in 692 Central Hockey League regular season games, which is believed to be a league record, tallying 287 goals, 302 assists, 589 points and 838 penally minutes. In 2010, he scored the title clinching goal for Rapid City in Game 6 of the President’s Cup final against the Allen Americans.

BRANDON SHAW – ASSISTANT COACH
Shaw began his career in the hockey verse as an analyst (2014-15) for the Hamilton Bulldogs. In the years to come, he would go the the GOJHL working for the Cambridge Winter Hawks (2015-17) as an assistant coach/video coach, but would spend most of his career (2017-2022) in the BCHL for teams such as the Merritt Centennials (Scout, Assistant Coach, Dir. of Scouting), Alberni Valley Bulldogs (Assistant Coach, Dir. of Player Development) and and the Coquitlam Express as the Head Coach.
Most recently, Shaw comes from the Niagara IceDogs as the Assistant Coach, working with the team from 2022-24.

REAGAN O’GRADY – ASSISTANT COACH
The Lindsay, ON native began his hockey career in 2013-14 playing for the Toronto Marlboros U16 AAA team as a defenceman, skating 29 games with 5 goals and 19 assists. He would then move on into the OHL signing with the Kingston Frontenacs (2014-15) , traded to the Sudbury Wolves the same season. O’Grady would remain with the Wolves from 2015 to the beginning of the 2017-18 season, having a total of 44 points. Sudbury would trade O’Grady to Mississauga Steelheads (now known as the Brampton Steelheads) for the remainder of the 2017-18 season, then moving once more to Saginaw Spirit in the 2018-19 season.
On top of his on ice experience, Reagan worked as an assistant coach for the Lindsay Muskies for a number of years (2019-24) as well as the Director of Player Development in the 2023-24 season.

PAUL GIBSON – GOALTENDING COACH
Prior to joining the Attack, Gibson had several years of experience working in the League. His experience, both on and off the ice as a goalie and a goaltending coach, gives Gibson a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to perfect a goalie’s skills, technique, and stability.
As a goalie himself, Gibson completed many seasons with The St. Thomas Stars in the WOHL (2003 to 2007) as well as Ryerson University’s Ryerson Rams (2007 to 2011).
In the goaltending coach world, Gibson has provided guidance and worked with teams such as The St. Thomas Stars (from 2014 to 2018), the University of Guelph’s Guelph Gryphons (from 2018 to 2021), and The Oshawa Generals (from 2019 to 2023).
ANDY BROWN – HEAD ATHLETIC THERAPIST
Andy Brown enters his 17th season as the Owen Sound Attacks Head Athletic Therapist. A Certified Athletic Therapist, he is responsible for all player needs relating to medical treatment.
In his over 1,000 games with the team, Brown has been a part of an Ontario Hockey League Championship in 2011, participated in the CHL Top Prospects game and the CHL Canada/Russia Series games. He has also had a very successful tenure with Hockey Canada programs, representing Canada at the World U17 Hockey Challenge in 2006 and 2017 and the IIHF Ice Hockey Under-18 World Championships in 2019. He has also won gold with team Canada four times completing the Hlinka hat trick with gold medal wins at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in 2009 and 2017 and Hlinka Gretzky Cup in 2018. His latest gold came in the 2023 World Junior Championship where he served as the team’s athletic therapist.
Prior to joining the Attack, Brown spent two seasons as the Athletic Therapist for the Kingston Frontenac’s.
Andy lives in Owen Sound with his wife Shari, and their three boys; Alex, Liam, and Josh.
TREVOR CASTONGUAY – HEAD EQUIPMENT MANAGER
Trevor returned to the Attack following 2 seasons as the Head Equipment Manager for the Niagara IceDogs,
In 2017 he worked with Hockey Canada as an Assistant Equipment Manager with the under-17 training camp, won a Canada Games gold medal with Team Ontario in 2019 and most recently work with Hockey Canada at the 2022 Under-17 Showcase with Team Canada Red.
Prior to his time with the Attack Trevor worked as the Equipment Manager for the Galnbrook Rangers Junior C Hockey Club. From 2007-2014, Trevor was the Equipment Manager for the OJHL’s Hamilton Red Wings and in 2014 he was a member of Team Canada East’s selection camp for the World Junior A Challenge. He has also represented the OJHL at the Central Canada Cup. With the Attack, Trevor will assist with the daily equipment needs of the team both at home and on the road.
ANDY PLAYTER – STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH
Previously the Head Athletic Therapist for the Owen Sound Attack from 2003-2005, Playter is a native of Owen Sound and has extensive experience as both a Certified Athletic Therapist and a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Currently the owner of the Owen Sound based Hands-On Sport Therapy and Consulting, Playter began his career in sports as the Assistant Athletic Therapist in 1997 with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League before taking over as the Head Football Athletic Therapist and Strength & Conditioning Coach for Wilfrid Laurier University two years later.
Following his two years with the Attack, Playter moved on to become an Assistant Athletic Therapist with the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators, where he worked for three years before becoming the Head Athletic Therapist for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. After just one season in the AHL, Playter was named the Head Athletic Therapist for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2009 where he held the position until returning to Owen Sound and opening Hands-On Sport Therapy & Consulting in 2015.

RYAN MANLEY – STATISTICIAN AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Ryan is responsible for a great deal of the game by game statistical information that helps the coaching staff prepare for games and practices. He has also taken on the role of being the administrative assistant to the General Manager and is responsible for booking travel, dealing with billet families as well as other items as assigned by the General Manager.

FRED WALLACE – PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCER
Fred Wallace has been the voice of the team for more than a decade. He has stepped away from doing play-by-play but continues to be the Attacks Public Address announcer at all home games.

MATT HERMIZ – PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCER
Matt Hermiz is the new voice of the 560 CFOS Bear Radio. He has filled in for Fred Wallace for the past two seasons. He announces at the games and does the play-by-play for his own radio broadcast of the away games on CFOS in Owen Sound.
