The Owen Sound Attack played their final pre-season home game tonight, losing 5-3 to the Memorial Cup Host Mississauga St. Michaels Majors.
The Attack were without the serives of Garrett Wilson, Geoffrey Schemitsch, Jason Wilson, Scott Stajcer, Jesse Blacker due to their attendance at NHL Camps and without several other regulars due to numbers.
Mississauga got on the board first when Greg Sutch sent home a Kerby Rychel slapshot on the doorstep but the Attack were not long responding as Kurtis Gabriel found the back of the net on a screen shot from the slot.
The Attack found themsevles down 3-1 after Mississauga scored consecutive times in the second but Nick Weiss pulled the Attack within one going into the third period on a fine tip from Jarrod Maidens slot area shot.
Mississauga answered back early in the third by banging home a rebound, but the Attack again pulled within one making it a one goal game.
The Majors proved just to be a little too much for the Attack as they skated off with a 5-3 win.
