Matthew Koprowski Interview : Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game 2024
Announced 4 days ago was OHL League wide invitations to the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects taking place in Brantford Jan. 15th. Among those selected to attend was Matthew Koprowski, along with teammates Harry Nansi and David Bedkowski. We sat down with Koprowski to talk through his thoughts on being invited, the anticipation and hopes on the Game.
How does it feel to be invited to the Connor McDavid Top Prospects Game:
It’s a great feeling being invited to a top prospects game. I’m really excited about this opportunity and looking to prove myself and show people what I can do. It’s also a great way to see some great players around the league.
What was your reaction when you found out you’d been selected:
I was in rink school and got the news from one of the guys on the team (western devision), Knights’ goalie Alexis Medvedev, it would be cool to play with him again. Then, I told my parents the news and they were pretty excited to hear the news.
How important is this game for your development as a player:
The game is a good chance to prove what I can do and gives me an opportunity to play in a highly skilled game. It’s a good way for me to learn things to bring. back to my team as well.
What does being invited to this game mean to you personally and professionally:
It’s a step in the right direction to help me with my goals of playing professionally. It’s also a chance for me to get my name out there a little more. Professionally I think it’s a chance to learn different types of good habits from guys around the league.
Are there any particular players you’re excited to compete alongside or against:
I’m excited to play with Cameron Reid again. We played together when we were kids on the same AAA team. It’s nice to know a couple of the guys on the team because we can gel together for the game easier.
How do you feel about the level of competition you’ll face in this event:
I’m excited for a challenge, playing against some top talent. It’s a game that’s supposed to be fun but also show people how you can play agains top end guys. It’s gonna be a good game, lots of top end guys on both team, that makes impacts on any team there.
