Bears Sights set on Hockey for Hospice
After playing three games in four days, the Owen Sound Attack have enjoyed a nice break this week. With an entire week free of games, the Bears have solely set their sights on their lone action set for Saturday night, when the Saginaw Spirit visit the Bayshore.
The game marks the Attack’s Hockey for Hospice charity game and fans can find more information on the night’s events here.
With all the events and activities going on off-ice, the on-ice product is set to be special, as exceptional status Michael Misa makes his first appearance at the Bayshore. It’s not only Misa’s first visit to the Bayshore, but it is also the first time this season that Owen Sound and Saginaw will meet. The Attack won the season series last year, claiming a 3-1 record over the Spirit.
This season the Spirit shot out of the gate, and held top spot in the Western Conference for a good portion early on, but have since stagnated and now find themselves in the thick of the Western Conference playoff picture. The teams find themselves locked even in the standings going into the weekend, as the Attack aim to keep hold of fourth place in the conference and that coveted home ice advantage in round one of the playoffs.
Offence has come hard for the Spirit over the past six games, averaging just under three goals a games. Though struggling to fill the net, Saginaw remains among the top 10 teams in goals against, led by their goalie tandem of overager Tristan Lennox and Andrew Oke. For their part, Owen Sound has seen their offence dry up slightly over the past handful of games, but the Bears remain a top 10 team for goal scoring, led by captain Colby Barlow who sits just three back of the league lead.
Tickets for Saturday night are quickly becoming limited, but fans can purchase tickets at the MacVicor and McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office by calling 519-371-7452 or going online.
The Weekend Preview is presented by Joe Tomatoes, located in the Galaxy Plaza on the Sunset Strip.
