Amelia Willson Named Coordinator, Communications & Digital Content
The Owen Sound Attack are proud to announce the hiring of Amelia Willson as the teams new Coordinator, Communications & Digital Content. Willson’s role with the team will have an increased focus on digital content and providing Attack fans with an inside look at the team and its players.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to add such a creative and content driven person to our staff” said Attack Manager, Marketing & Communications, Greg Hoddinott. “We had a lot of great candidates that made this decision a difficult one, but in the end Amelia’s skill set and content creation ability won out. These skills compliment our current staff members and will help us grow an area of our business that continues to evolve and become more integral to the success of our organization.”
A resident of Port Elgin, Ontario, Willson joins the Attack as a graduate of the St. Clair College, Public Relations and Communications Specialist program where she was honours student and gained experience as a Material Designer with the Kidney Foundation of Windsor-Essex, Assistant Event Planner with Sage River Events and a part of the team that raised over $100,000 with the Paint n’ Sip fundraiser. She has also spent many years working on social media campaigns for local not-for-profit groups.
“I’m super excited and thrilled to be joining the Owen Sound Attack family and eager to contribute my skills and creativity to help engage and inspire fans, both local and far” said Willson. “From behind-the-scenes footage to captivating game highlights, my aim is to bring the magic of the Owen Sound Attack to life and foster an even stronger connection between the team and its supporters.”
“I plan to use my passion for working in the community as well my public relations training to paint a vivid picture of the wins, the challenge and all the heart-pounding action. It is an honor to be entrusted with these moments and to be able to bring them to life for the fans” added Willson.
Amelia will begin her role on July 10, 2023 and will work in tandem with Brock Tanner until he leaves the organization on August 9, 2023.
