Attack Set for Final Pre-Season Tune-ups

The Owen Sound Attack embark on the final week of the 2023 pre-season schedule. This includes a mid-week neutral site tilt against highway 26 rivals the Barrie Colts and Saturday afternoon pre-season finale against the North Bay Battalion. The Attack will play their final pre-season tune-ups when they take on the Colts in front of a sold crowd at P & H Centre in Hanover on Wednesday, September 20 at 7pm, while they will hit the ice at the Bayshore for the first time on Saturday, September 23 at 2pm against the North Bay Battalion.

Hockey Night In Hanover presented by Trusscore

The Attack open the home side of their pre-season schedule against the Barrie Colts in front of a sold out neutral site crowd at the P & H Centre in Hanover. Much like when these two teams met the first time this pre-season, Wednesday nights game will likely feature younger line-ups for both teams with NHL training camps in full swing. The last time these two teams met was each teams first pre-season game with the Colts coming out ahead 3-0.

Fans in attendance will be treated to a great OHL game on the ice, while off-the-ice the organizing committee have the following planned.

Cubby will be in attendance with some fun swag throughout the game
During intermissions fans can visit the Blue Line Club presented by KnK Lawncare to check out a vendor area and silent auction including a Colby Barlow Autographed jersey and a post-game Meet and Greet Package with Attack goaltender Carter George that includes an autographed jersey.
Participate in a 50-50 draw conducted by Saugeen Valley Minor Hockey
Participate in a 2nd Intermission chuck-a-puck run by the Hanover Barons with the winners taking home $50 in Tim Hortons Gift Cards, $50 Cobble Beach Gift Card or a Owen Sound Attack Prize Pack.
Young fans will have the opportunity to get high-fives from both teams when they are coming on and off the ice. An area by the Hanover Barons dressing room will be set up to bump fists with your favourite Attack players, while an area just down the ramp to the main dressing room area will available for those looking to do the same with the Barrie Colts.

“We are extremely excited for this day to finally be here and bring OHL hockey to Hanover” said Attack Manager, Marketing and Communications, Greg Hoddinott. “The committee has done a lot of work to help make this a successful night and hopefully raise some money for Saugeen Valley Minor Hockey and the Hanover Barons in the process. Final Tune-Up

The Attack will close out the pre-season looking to avenge a 2-1 shootout loss earlier in the pre-season when the North Bay Battalion come to the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre on Saturday, September 23 at 2pm. This will be the lone pre-season home game at the Bayshore before the start of the regular season the following week. This promises to be a hard fought battle with players looking to solidify their role on their respective rosters ahead of the 2023-24 regular season.

Ahead of the Saturday’s pre-season game season ticket members can participate in the Attack’s annual town hall meeting starting at 12pm in the Shore Room. Attack General Manager Dale DeGray and Head Coach Greg Walters will be on hand to answer questions about the upcoming season and the teams roster. Light refreshments will be provided.
