Winterhawks acquire draft pick from Everett for Donavan Bodnar
Saskatoon, Sask. – The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club today announced the acquisition of a fourth-round pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for 2005-born goaltender Donavan Bodnar and a conditional sixth-round selection.
Bodnar, 17, is currently playing with the Raiders Jr. Hockey Club of the MMJHL and is 1-2-0-0 on the year with a 3.28 goals-against-average (GAA) and .901 save percentage (SV%). Bodnar spent the previous three seasons developing with RINK Hockey Academy in Winnipeg, Man., earning a 12-6-2 record with their Under-18 program.
Originally selected by Portland in the seventh round, #141 overall, of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, the West St. Paul, Man. native appeared in three preseason contests this year with the Winterhawks, recording a 3.98 GAA and .860 SV%.
