Hawks Acquire Mitchell Walter from Edmonton
The Portland Winterhawks have acquired forward Mitchell Walter from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
Walter has two goals and three assists for five points in 38 games this season, his second in the WHL. Walter was part of the Oil Kings roster last season when they won the Ed Chynoweth Cup and Memorial Cup.
“Mitchell will bring size and speed to our lineup along with a winning pedigree with his experience in Edmonton last season,” said Portland Winterhawks General Manager & Head Coach Jamie Kompon. “He will add depth to our forwards and we look forward to him joining the organization.”
In addition, the Hawks have announced that forwards Tyson Predinchuk and Ethan Price have left the team to pursue hockey opportunities closer to their hometowns.
