About Last Night
Even while missing leading scorer Gabe Klassen, the Winterhawks managed to pick up two big points against the Medicine Hat Tigers at the VMC on Saturday.
Josh Zakreski (1G, 1A) and Jack O’Brien (2A) led the way for the Hawks during regulation time, and Kyle Chyzowski wrapped up the win with a breakaway strike in overtime.

Checking out the Chiefs
Spokane boasts a 2-2-0 record on the season with a handful of exciting young stars leading the way. 2022 CHL Import Draft selection Tommaso De Luca (1G, 3A) and the first overall pick from the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, Berkly Catton (1G, 2A), have hit the ground running in Spokane, while veterans like Kooper Gizowski (1G, 5A), Mac Gross (3G) and Raegen Wiles (2G, 1A) provide a steady, productive presence throughout the lineup.
Three in Four
The grind of the season has well and truly arrived as the Hawks find themselves in their first run of three games in four nights. Saturday’s win provides a nice springboard for the club to keep the momentum rolling, and after tonight’s tilt, the Hawks are back home for a test against the defending WHL Champion Edmonton Oil Kings on Tuesday.
It’s a grueling run, but one the Winterhawks will be excited to take on as they look to keep their hot start to the season going.
