Dante Giannuzzi signs contract with ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies
Portland, Ore. – The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club is proud to announce today that Dante Giannuzzi has signed a contract with the Utah Grizzlies, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche.
Giannuzzi, 20, completed his Winterhawks career having played 109 games in net over five seasons with the club. The Winnipeg, Man. native owns a 59-32-8-4 career record alongside a .896 career save percentage and a 3.07 goals-against average.
Originally selected in the fifth round, #99 overall, of the 2017 WHL Prospects Draft, Giannuzzi set a new career high with 23 wins during the 2022-23 season, and helped the Winterhawks to its best 20-game start in franchise history. He also captured the club record for all-time assists by a goaltender when he recorded his 10th career helper back in December 2022 and leaves Portland ranked tenth all-time with 59 wins and five career shutouts.
