#CunnyCan
This week’s Alumni Report concerns only one former Winterhawk: Craig Cunningham. Craig only played one half of a season for the Winterhawks, recording 42 points in 35 regular season games. In the playoffs Cunningham recorded 21 points in 21 games. His most standout performance came in the Game 6 win over Spokane as he recorded a goal and two assists to propel the Hawks to their first conference title since 2001.
Craig is now fighting for his life in a Tucson hospital, having collapsed before the Tucson Roadrunners’ game on Saturday night. The outpouring of well wishes and stories about how special Craig is have come from all corners of the hockey world. Though he was only a Winterhawk for a few months, his impact on those who got a chance to meet him in that time was large. You simply cannot find a better person in hockey, or in life, than Craig Cunningham.
