Caleb Jones signs one-year deal with Carolina Hurricanes
Portland Winterhawks alumnus Caleb Jones signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Jones, 26, has played in 216 career NHL games across six season with the Edmonton Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks. Last year, Jones scored four goals and 12 assists in 73 games.
The Arlington, Texas native played two seasons with the Winterhawks from 2015 to 2017 and recorded 117 points in 135 games. He led all Western Hockey League rookies with 45 assists during his first year in Portland and was selected by Edmonton in the fourth round of that summer’s NHL Draft. Internationally, Jones helped Team USA capture gold medals at the Under-17, Under-18 and Under-20 levels of competition before turning pro in 2017.
