Regina, Sask. — The Regina Pats are proud to announce that forwards Maddox Schultz and Liam Pue, along with prospect Logan Henry, have been named to Hockey Canada’s rosters for the 2026 U17 World Challenge, taking place November 1-7 at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex in Oakville, Ont.
Schultz and Henry will represent Canada White, while Pue will suit up for Canada Red. The three Pats representatives are among 44 players selected to represent Canada at the international tournament, including 17 players from the Western Hockey League. In addition, Regina Pats Manager of Hockey Operations and Goaltending Coach Max Paddock will serve as the Goalie Coach for Team White.
Schultz, 16, returns to the U17 World Challenge for the second consecutive year after recording nine points (6G-3A) in five games with Canada White as an underage player in 2025, helping his country capture a silver medal. The Regina product is no stranger to the international stage, having helped Canada win gold at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup this past August. Schultz tied for the tournament lead in scoring with 10 points (3G-7A) in five games, an impressive performance as an underage player.
The first-overall selection in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft has continued his strong play into the 2026-27 campaign, registering seven points (2G-5A) in six games with the Pats. Last season, Schultz enjoyed a standout rookie campaign, tallying 29 points (15G-14A) in 34 WHL games. He also dominated with the Regina Pat Canadians, recording 60 points (30G-30A) in 21 regular-season contests before adding 20 points (12G-8A) in 11 playoff and regional games, helping the club capture both the SMAAAHL championship and Western Regional title.
Pue, 16, will also make his second appearance at the U17 World Challenge after posting eight points (4G-4A) in five games with Canada White in 2025, helping Canada earn a silver medal. The Langley, B.C. product is coming off a memorable summer on the international stage, leading the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup with six goals and finishing with nine points in five games en route to a gold medal. His six goals established a new tournament record for a Canadian underage player, surpassing the previous mark held by Sidney Crosby.
Selected third overall in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft, Pue has enjoyed a tremendous start to the 2026-27 season, recording 10 points (5G-5A) in seven games, tied for the Pats’ team lead in scoring. Last season, Pue registered 16 points (6G-10A) in 34 games with Regina while also producing 48 points (16G-32A) in 21 regular-season games with the Pat Canadians. He added 18 points (7G-11A) in 11 playoff and regional contests, playing a key role alongside Schultz in the club’s championship run.
Henry, 15, was selected by the Regina Pats in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft and will represent Canada White at the 2026 U17 World Challenge. The Prince George, B.C. product is currently playing with Burnaby Winter Club U18 Prep, where he has recorded five points (1G-4A) in five games to begin the 2026-27 season. Last season, the 5-foot-10, 187-pound forward registered 15 points (8G-7A) in 27 regular-season games before adding six points (1G-5A) in five playoff contests.

Paddock, 26, has been named goaltending coach for Canada White, marking another milestone in his coaching career. The Brandon, Man. product is in his third season with the Regina Pats organization after joining the club as goaltending coach ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. He is also entering his second season as the Pats’ Manager of Hockey Operations.
A former Pats goaltender, Paddock enjoyed a standout WHL career that included four seasons with Regina from 2016-20. He helped backstop the Pats to the 2018 Memorial Cup Final, earning CHL Memorial Cup All-Star Team honours following the tournament. Paddock ranks 14th in franchise history among goaltenders in games played (114), minutes played (6,314) and goals-against average (3.27). Following the conclusion of his WHL career with the Prince Albert Raiders, Paddock utilized the WHL Scholarship program while attending Acadia University and the University of the Fraser Valley from 2021-24 before returning to Regina in a coaching role.
