PREVIEW: Pats Host Hurricanes
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats host the Lethbridge Hurricanes in game one of two home games this weekend. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m., inside the Brandt Centre with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.
The Pats enter tonight’s battle with a 15-21-4-2 record and 36 points which is 10th in the Eastern Conference and just five points back of the Prince Albert Raiders for eighth. The Hurricanes are 20-18-3-0 with 43 points, good for seventh in the Eastern Conference and seven points ahead of the Pats.

The Pats are 2-2 over their last four games as they play their final two home games in the month of January this weekend. The next two games are crucial for The Regiment as they look to gain ground in the Eastern Conference standings with 26 games left in the season.
The group is coming off a 6-1 loss to the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday inside the SaskTel Centre, ending their three-in-three weekend 1-2. Kolten Bridgeman scored the Pats only goal, his first career WHL goal with the assist to Cole Temple. Ewan Huet made 32 saves in the loss. The final shots were 38-20 for the Blades. The Pats went 0-3 on their power play and 4-5 on the penalty kill. The Blades led 1-0 after one, and 4-1 after two before scoring two more in the third to take a 5-2 season series lead with the final game set for Jan. 31 at SAS.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes are coming off a 6-3 loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors on Wednesday, and have dropped the first two games of their four game road trip. Miguel Marques, Sean Tschigerl and Dylan Sydor scored in the defeat while Brady Smith made 37-saves in a losing cause. The ‘Canes were outshot by the Warriors 43-25 in the contest. Lethbridge went 1-3 on the power play while Moose Jaw went 2-4 with the extra man.
Today will be the second game of three on the road against Eastern Division opponents. Prior to dropping their last two games, the Hurricanes were 5-1 over their previous six games (20GF-13GA). Have now been outscored 9-to-5 over last two games.
