PREVIEW
The Regina Pats look to get back in the win column tonight against the Prince Albert Raiders, taking on the Raiders in the second of eight meetings this season.
The Pats are coming off a 5-1 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday at Co-op Place, dropping their second of two games last weekend. Regina’s only goal came from Connor Bear, and Ewan Huet made 30 saves. The Pats were outshot 35-23. Both the Pats and Tigers went 0-5 on their power plays.
The Raiders are coming off a 4-3 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday at home. The win came after a 1-4 B.C., road trip. It was Niall Crocker that recorded a point on all four of the Raiders goals, finishing with four points (1G-3A). Justice Christensen (1G-1A), Aiden Oiring (1G-1A) and Cole Peardon rounded out the scoring while Max Hildebrand made 33 saves. Seattle outshot Prince Albert 36-35. The Thunderbirds went 2-4 on their power play and the Raiders went 2-7 on their power play.
The Pats have had recent success against the Raiders, taking the first meeting in the season opener 3-2 in overtime on September 20. The Pats have now won three of their last four meetings versus the Raiders.
WHO TO WATCH
Tanner Howe will return to the lineup tonight for the first time since September 29 vs. Moose Jaw. Howe has only played four periods this season, and already has one goal. He will bring a much needed boost to a lineup who only scored twice over the weekend after putting up an eight spot against the Seattle Thunderbirds on October 19. Howe is a second round pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins and tallied 77 points (28G-49A) in 68 games in 2023-24.
For the Raiders, Niall Crocker tied his career-high with points in a game with four (1G-3A) in a 4-3 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds on October 25. The Delta, B.C., product leads the Raiders with 15 points (5G-10A) in 12 games.
