Bulldogs reacquire 2026 second-round pick in deal with Frontenacs
The Brantford Bulldogs and Kingston Frontenacs completed a draft pick swap on Wednesday, with Brantford reacquiring its natural second-round selection in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.
As part of the deal, the Bulldogs receive their own second-round pick in 2026, while the Frontenacs add Brampton’s fourth-round selection in 2026 along with Brantford’s second-round pick in 2029.
The move gives Brantford added flexibility heading into the 2026 OHL Priority Selection, as the Bulldogs now hold picks in the first, second, and third rounds of the draft. Reacquiring their own second-round selection allows Brantford to strengthen its draft position while maintaining control over key early-round assets.
For Kingston, the trade adds future draft capital while also tying into a milestone moment for the organization and the League. The Frontenacs will host the 2026 OHL Priority Selection, presented by Real Canadian Superstore, which will mark the League’s first in-person draft since 2000. The event is scheduled for June 12–13, 2026, at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston.
The return of an in-person draft brings added significance to Kingston’s involvement in 2026 draft-related activity, as teams from across the League prepare to gather in the Frontenacs’ home rink to shape the next generation of OHL talent. Along with the Priority Selection, the week will also feature the League’s annual June meetings, welcoming OHL Governors, General Managers, and business operations staff from all 20 member clubs.
