Bulldogs acquire Otters captain Gabriel Frasca in draft-pick deal

The Brantford Bulldogs have acquired forward Gabriel Frasca and a 2029 12th-round pick from the Erie Otters in exchange for four OHL Priority Selection picks.

As part of the deal, Erie receives a 2028 second-round pick (Brantford), a 2029 second-round pick (Ottawa), a 2027 fourth-round pick (Flint), and a 2029 sixth-round pick (Brantford).

Frasca, a Caledon, Ont. native, was named captain of the Otters ahead of the 2025-26 season, his second with the club. Originally selected 17th overall by the Kingston Frontenacs in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection, the 6-foot-1, 181-pound left shot has enjoyed the most productive season of his OHL career to date. Through 37 games this season, Frasca has recorded 39 points on 18 goals and 21 assists, setting new career highs in both categories.

Over 200 career OHL games split between Kingston and Erie, Frasca has established himself as a consistent two-way forward and trusted leader. During his time in Erie, he played a key role in the club’s return to the second round of the OHL Playoffs last spring and was a steady presence both on the ice and in the community.

In Brantford, Frasca joins a Bulldogs roster that already features several former OHL captains.

“Gabe Frasca is an extremely underrated player who brings leadership and versatility to our group,” said Bulldogs General Manager Spencer Hyman. “He can play centre or wing, has a heavy shot, and competes every night. We’re thrilled to welcome him to Brantford.”

The move allows Brantford to add an experienced, NHL-draft-eligible forward for the second half of the season, while Erie adds future draft capital as it continues to shape its roster for the years ahead.
