Otters acquire goaltender Noah Tegelaar from Soo Greyhounds

The Erie Otters have acquired goaltender Noah Tegelaar from the Soo Greyhounds in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.

Tegelaar, a Georgetown, Ontario native, is in his first full OHL season and has appeared in 11 games with the Greyhounds this year, posting a 7-3-1-0 record with a 2.89 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage. The 6-foot-5 netminder was originally selected by the Greyhounds in the second round of the 2023 OHL U18 Priority Selection and signed with the club in February of 2025.

Prior to joining the Greyhounds, Tegelaar spent time in Junior A, including a standout season with the Collingwood Blues of the OJHL, where he recorded a 22-4-4 record, a 1.68 goals-against average, and a .940 save percentage. His play earned recognition from NHL Central Scouting.

“We are excited to add Noah to our goaltending group,” said Erie Director of Hockey Operations Scott Grieve. “Noah is a big, athletic goalie who has had success at multiple levels. He adds depth to our crease as we head into a busy stretch of games.”

From the Greyhounds’ perspective, the move helps balance their roster situation in goal.

“With three OHL-quality goaltenders on our roster, we explored opportunities to best manage the situation for everyone involved,” said Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis. “Noah has been a great Greyhound, and we felt this was the right fit for all sides. We want to thank Noah and wish him the best with the Otters.”

The deal provides Erie with added goaltending depth for the second half of the season, while the Greyhounds add a future draft asset.
