Frontenacs announce Multi-Year Contract Extensions for Kory Cooper and Troy Mann
Kingston, ON – The Kingston Frontenacs are pleased to announce that General Manager Kory Cooper and Head Coach Troy Mann have signed multi-year contract extensions with the hockey club.
Cooper and Mann will continue to lead the Frontenacs’ Hockey Operations department as the organization builds toward continued success both on and off the ice.
“We’re incredibly happy to have Kory and Troy sign these contract extensions,” said Frontenacs President and Governor Doug Springer. “They have altered the trajectory of this franchise for the better and I firmly believe that these two are the best men for the job as we work towards bringing a championship to the city of Kingston.”
Previously the Assistant General Manager, Cooper took over as General Manager of the Frontenacs in July of 2021 and has played a crucial role in not only shaping the team’s roster, but overseeing the organization’s culture reset. Under his leadership, Kingston has continued to develop its young talent while establishing a strong foundation. Cooper was acknowledged for his continued efforts as he captured the Jim Gregory OHL General Manager of the Year Award following the 2024-25 season.
“I’m excited to continue working alongside our staff, our players and for our city and fans,” said Cooper. “Our commitment to player development is at the centre of everything we do, and we’ve created an environment where our players can develop both on and off the ice and ultimately reach their goals. At the same time, we’re focused on building a team that the Kingston community can be proud of and that can compete for championships. Doug, Troy, our entire staff, and I believes that Kingston deserves a winning hockey team, and our collective goal is to bring that success to this city.”
Mann was named Head Coach of the Frontenacs in October of 2023 and brought with him an extensive coaching experience at the professional level with the AHL’s Belleville Senators and Hershey Bears. Since taking over behind the Kingston bench, Mann has helped Cooper establish an organizational identity built around structure, accountability, and hard work.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time in Kingston and the opportunity to reunite with Coop after our time together in the AHL,” said Mann. “Doug and Kory have done a tremendous job creating a family atmosphere and making the rink a place that everyone enjoys coming to. Developing our players both on and off the ice is never an easy task, but it remains the top priority for us. We’ll continue to support our players as they grow, with the goal of bringing a championship to our loyal fans and the city of Kingston.”
The Frontenacs open the 2026-27 OHL regular season on Thursday, September 17th at 7:05PM in Peterborough against the Petes before returning home on Sunday, September 20th for our Home Opener against the Ottawa 67’s. The puck may drop at 3:05PM but the real fun starts at 12:00PM with our annual Home Opener Tailgate Party.
