67’s acquire defenceman David Bedkowski from Owen Sound

The Ottawa 67’s have acquired defenceman David Bedkowski from the Owen Sound Attack in exchange for a package of OHL Priority Selection draft picks.

Bedkowski, 19, was selected 27th overall in the second round of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection and began his OHL career with the Oshawa Generals before being traded to Owen Sound ahead of the 2024–25 season. Across 198 career OHL games split between Oshawa and Owen Sound, the defenceman has recorded nine goals and 32 assists for 41 points.

The Buffalo Sabres selected Bedkowski in the third round, 71st overall, of the 2025 NHL Draft. He was named the 29th captain in Attack franchise history prior to the 2025–26 season and has appeared in 38 games this year, posting two goals and 15 assists for 17 points.

“David is a unique player in our league,” said Ottawa 67’s General Manager Jan Egert. “His range, mobility, strength, and physicality make him an uncomfortable opponent to play against. We look forward to welcoming David and his family to the 67’s organization and into the Ottawa community.”

In return, Owen Sound receives five draft picks, including a second-round selection in 2027, two third-round picks, a fourth-round pick, and a seventh-round pick. The move allows the Attack to add future assets while Ottawa adds a veteran, NHL-drafted defenceman to its blue line.

The Attack thanked Bedkowski for his leadership and contributions during his time in Owen Sound and wished him success as he continues his OHL career in Ottawa.
