Colts acquire Ben Wilmott from London Knights
The Barrie Colts have acquired forward Ben Wilmott from the London Knights in exchange for a package that includes draft picks and the OHL rights to William Moore.
Wilmott, a Seattle, Washington native, joins the Colts in his first OHL season. The 19-year-old forward has appeared in 37 games with the Knights, recording 12 goals and 34 points while showing a reliable two-way game. Prior to arriving in the OHL, Wilmott spent the 2024–25 season with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL, where he posted 33 points on 16 goals and 17 assists in 50 games. He is committed to Ohio State University for the 2026–27 NCAA season.
“We’re excited to add Ben to our group,” said Colts Vice President and General Manager Marty Williamson. “He’s a competitive player with offensive instincts. His experience at the junior level and his ability to play a complete game will be a valuable addition to our lineup.”
Heading to London are the OHL rights to William Moore along with four future draft selections. Moore was originally selected 18th overall by the Knights in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection before being traded to Barrie. The Boston Bruins selected Moore 51st overall in the 2025 NHL Draft. He has yet to sign his NHL entry-level contract and previously competed in the inaugural CHL/USA Prospects Challenge with the U.S. National Team Development Program. Moore also won an OHL Cup championship in 2022 with the Mississauga Senators.
The move sees Barrie add an immediate offensive contributor, while London recoups future assets and prospect rights as part of the deal.
