Storm sign free-agent defenceman Braeden Van Gelder

The Guelph Storm have announced they have signed 2007-born free-agent defenceman Braeden Van Gelden to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

The Etobicoke, ON native was the captain of the Caledon Admirals (OJHL) to start the 2025-26 season, where he registered 10 points (1-9–10) across 16 games. He went on to appear in seven games for the Cape Breton Eagles (QMJHL), where he registered four penalty minutes.

Van Gelder was previously drafted by the Owen Sound Attack in the third round of the 2024 OHL U18 Draft.
