Pataki Commits to Wolves
The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that 4th round draft selection BRADY PATAKI has committed to play in the OHL for the Sudbury Wolves. The 6’3”, 220 lb right-winger was selected 65th overall in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection by the Sudbury Wolves. The native of Wallaceburg, Ontario played for the Chatham Minor Midgets last season. In 18 play-off games, Pataki scored 13 goals for Chatham. Brady is only 15 years of age and doesn’t turn 16 years of age until October.
“I am very excited about playing in the OHL for the Sudbury Wolves” notes Brady. “It has been a dream-come-true for me to play in the OHL and develop my skills with the hopes of playing professional hockey one day. Sudbury is recognized with having some great players play for their program over the years and many of them are playing in the NHL today. I look forward to developing my skills and contributing to the success of the Sudbury Wolves during my OHL career.”
“We are thrilled that Brady and his family have chosen the OHL route to pursue his career in hockey” notes Wolves’ GM Blaine Smith. “A high-end prospect like Brady has options and I know that he and his family were very impressed with Sudbury and what they saw here during our Orientation Camp in May. Sudbury is recognized as a great community to play and develop as a player and a person and we look forward to providing Brady with that opportunity.”
Wolves’ Head Scout Andrew Shaw watched Brady develop last season in Chatham and watched the improvement from the start of the season until the end of the season. “Brady is one of those power forwards that continued to show improvement throughout the season” notes Shaw. “Brady is one of the few players in the draft that is physically ready to play at the OHL level. Brady is a late-birthdate which means that he is not eligible to be drafted into the NHL until 2017. I am confident that he will be an NHL draft in three years.”
Brady Pataki and the Sudbury Wolves prepare for the upcoming Sudbury Wolves Main Camp which begins Thursday, August 28th at the Sudbury Arena.
