Bourque Commits to Wolves
The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that 3rd round draft selection TRENTON BOURQUE has elected to play in the OHL and has accepted an OHL Educational Scholarship with the Sudbury Wolves organization. The big 6’2”, 180 lb defenceman was selected 51st overall in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection by the Sudbury Wolves. The native of Burlington, Ontario played for the Hamilton Bulldogs Minor Midget AAA team last season and compiled 21 points in 40 games. He recorded 44 minutes in penalties.
“It is an honour to have been selected by the Wolves and to become a part of their organization” states Bourque. “This is a new experience and a new opportunity for me. I cannot wait to attend camp and begin training with the Wolves. It is going to be a change but I believe it will be an exciting change.” Bourque is a top prospect for the Wolves as well as being an excellent student and he is very dedicated to his education. Bourque recently completed Grade 10 with a 80+% average at the Academic level and he is looking to major in math and science.

Our coaches were instrumental in recruiting Trenton to Sudbury and we are very pleased to add an excellent prospect like Trenton to our organization.” Wolves’ Head Scout Andrew Shaw adds that Bourque has “excellent hockey sense and possesses natural offensive instincts. Trenton is an outstanding skater. He is big and he plays with a physical edge. He is solid defensively, smart and has excellent upside. Trenton will be a very exciting player to watch.”
Trenton Bourque joins fellow 2014 drafted prospects Michael Pezzetta and Brady Pataki who have also committed to playing for the Sudbury Wolves and all three youngsters will be arriving in Sudbury on Thursday, August 28th to compete for a roster spot on the 2014-15 edition of the Sudbury Wolves.
