Sting start season on the road
Sting Overview
After finishing the pre-season with a 4-1-0 record, the Sarnia Sting are looking to rebound from last season in a big way. Newcomers Jakob Chychrun, Pavel Zacha, and Jordan Kyrou will make their OHL Regular Season debuts on the road this weekend before returning to Sarnia on October 3rd to play their first regular season game at the RBC Centre.
Sting Notes
Nikita Korostelev: After recording 17 goals and 38 points in his Rookie Season, Nikita Korostelev will be an offensive talent to watch this season. The versatile winger is projected to have a breakout season with the Sting this year.
Jakob Chychrun: After being selected 1st overall in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, Jakob Chychrun will make his OHL debut this weekend. The highly touted defenseman recorded 43 points in 29 games for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens last season.
Pavel Zacha: The Sting selected Zacha first overall in the 2014 CHL Import Draft. Zacha played professional hockey in the top-tiered Czech League last season and will be making his OHL debut this weekend.

The Sting will start the season on the road against the reigning divisional champions from Sault Ste. Marie. Fans can expect a high intensity game between these two teams who will both be raring for a win on Opening Night.

Players to watch – Soo Greyhounds
Sergey Tolchinsky: Tolchinsky led the Greyhounds with 91 points last season. After being signed by the Carolina Hurricanes last season, the shifty Russian is expected to have another big season with the Greyhounds this year.
Blake Speers: After picking up 40 points in his Rookie season last year, Speers is certainly a player to watch in this match-up.

Game Notes
As seen last season, the matchup between the Sting and the Spirit is certainly an exciting ones for fans. Following a slew of 4 games in one month against each other, the rivalry took off last season, resulting in some electrifying games at the RBC Centre.
The two teams are back at it in Saginaw on Saturday night Sarnia’s second game in two nights.

Players to watch – Saginaw Spirit
Jimmy Lodge: The Winnipeg Jets draft pick will be looking to have a career year with the Spirit this season after picking up 46 points in 59 games last season.
Dylan Sadowy: Sadowy is another player bound for a breakout season after recording 27 goals for the Spits in 2014-15.
