Sim Helps Phantoms Win Calder Cup
Philadelphia, PA – The most prolific goal scorer in Sting history added another notch Friday night in what has been a wonderful career.
Jon Sim scored twice in the Philadelphia Phantoms 5-2 win over the Chicago Wolves giving the ex-Sting forward a slice of AHL immortality.
With the Calder Cup Championship under his belt Sim can now boast the rare feat of being a Stanley Cup (Dallas Stars 1999) and a Calder Cup Champion.
The New Glasgow, Nova Scotia native capped a wonderful playoff run with the Phantoms scoring 10 times and adding 7 assists in 21 games.
The Phantoms have a number of former OHL stars on their roster including Jeff Carter and Mike Richards who were both integral parts of the championship run joining Philadelphia after their respective teams were eliminated in this year’s OHL playoffs.
The entire Sting organization would like to congratulate Jon and all his teammates on their Calder Cup win.
