Newcomers Make Debut in Windsor
Windsor, ON – It didnt take long for Sting GM Alan Millar to see the efforts of his latest trades pay off, unfortunately it was in a losing cause.
The Sting went down in defeat after getting on the board first, and making a charge late.
Mixed in between the strong start and strong finish were five Spitfire goals that would be enough for the victory.
The Sting got the lead out of the gate when rookie forward Adam Abrahamson notched his first career OHL goal beating Spits goalie Brad Topping.
From there it was Mathis Olimb (1) and Brad Efthimiou (1,2) with a pair to round out the scoring.
Overage defenceman Erik Schwanz had a big game picking up three assists.
The Spitfires were paced by forward John Scott Dickson who recorded a hat trick and Jason Dixon and David Lomas who added singles.
The Sting look to rebound Friday night when the Owen Sound Attack visit the SSEC.
Good tickets remain to come out and witness the new look Sting first hand. For tickets visit the box office or call 541-1717.
