Weekend Preview | Movember Edition
The Sting return home tonight to kick off the first home game of their Movember campaign, looking to get back into the win column after dropping 2 of 3 this past weekend. Sarnia will have their hands full as they will be greeted by a Kitchener Rangers team that has won four straight games. Friday the Sting will play host to the Greyhounds at 7:05pm, and Saturday they will head over to Owen Sound for a meeting with the attack. Tonight’s tilt against the Rangers starts at 7:05pm.
STING NOTES:
Louis Latta: The German rookie scored his first career OHL goal against Mississauga last Friday. Latta also registered 2 shots on goal and was a plus-2 on the night.
Justin Fazio: Fazio was outstanding in Friday’s win against Mississauga, stopping 34 of 36 shots. Fazio now has an impressive 9 wins in his first 13 games played this season.
Franco Sproviero: The Sarnia native scored a goal in last Friday’s win against Mississauga, and was 5/12 in the face-off circle. Sproviero also registered an assist against the Knights for points in back-to-back games.
Jordan Kyrou: Kyrou continued the torrid pace he’s been on since arriving back from NHL training camp, registering an assist in each of the 3-in-3 games this past weekend. The St. Louis Blues draft pick has 19 points in 13 games this season.
Anthony Salinitri: Salinitri has been on fire as of late with 13 points in his last 8 games (6 goals, 7 assists). Salinitri managed 2 goals and 2 assists this past weekend.
State of the Sting: The Sting currently sit 2 points back of the Greyhounds for 1st place in the OHL’s Western Division. Sarnia will face the Greyhounds this Friday with hopes to gain ground in the West Division title race.
The Sting host the Rangers for the first time this season. They will have their hands full as Kitchener has won 4 straight games. The Rangers are 10-3-0-1 on the season.
KIT Players to Watch:
Jeremy Bracco: The Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick has 24 points (9G, 15A) in only 11 games played this year. Bracco is also coming off a 3 point game against the Saginaw Spirit where he registered a goal and 2 assists.
Adam Mascherin: The 2nd round Florida Panthers draft pick has 9G, 18A for 27 points on the year. Mascherin is averaging just over 2 points per game this season.
The Sting will host the West leading Greyhounds Friday night as they look to gain ground in the Western Division title race. The Soo are 10-5-1-0 on the season, with a game in hand on the Sting.

Saturday the Sting will travel to Owen Sound to face Jaden Lindo’s old team. The Attack currently sit 4th in the Midwest division with an 8-7 record.
