U17 World Hockey Challenge- Ticket & Schedule Information
The 2024 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge set to take place in Sarnia Lambton from November 1-9. This prestigious international tournament will showcase the hockey talents of young athletes from across the globe and promises to deliver thrilling matchups and unforgettable moments on the ice.
Exhibition games will be held at Petrolia’s Greenwood Recreation Centre and The Shores Recreation Centre in Forest. All Tournament games will take place at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
Sarnia Sting Season Ticket Holders Exclusive Offer!
As an exclusive perk to being a Sarnia Sting Season Ticket Holder, Season Tickets Holders will have priority access to secure their seats in a a full tournament package for all preliminary and medal round games hosted at Progressive Auto Sales Arena. STH’s will have until Friday, September 13th at 11:30pm EDT to secure their packages. Additionally, full tournament packages can be redeemed through the Box Office beginning Saturday September 7th during the Sting’s first home pre-season contest. Season ticket holders can also purchase additional packages on top of their seats by calling or visiting the box office during regular box office hours.
2024 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge to be Hosted in Sarnia Lambton
SARNIA LAMBTON, ONTARIO – Tourism Sarnia Lambton is excited to announce the hosting of Hockey Canada’s 2024 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge.
Thank you for joining us as we unveil the highly anticipated details of the 2024 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge set to take place in Sarnia Lambton from November 1-9. This prestigious international tournament will showcase the hockey talents of young athletes from across the globe and promises to deliver thrilling matchups and unforgettable moments on the ice
Our objective is to create and host a positive, memorable, and rewarding World Under 17 Challenge experience for the players, teams, families, fans, partners, volunteers, our community, and Hockey Canada, and showcase the Sarnia-Lambton community and Tourism Sarnia-Lambton as premier, professional hosts.
With that statement the host committee is excited to open a registration for tournament volunteers and position leads, as we expect to work with roughly 150+ volunteers to help support a successful World Under 17 Tournament. Introduction of Teams for the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge
The World Under 17 Hockey Challenge showcases the incredible talent of young hockey players from across the globe. Each year, national and regional teams come together to compete for the championship title while representing their countries with pride.

Throughout the tournament, fans can look forward to seeing the next generation of NHL stars. Former players like, Joe Sakic, Sergi Fedorov, Pavel Bure, Jeremy Roenick, Mats Sudin, Joe Thorton and numerous NHL legend and Hockey Hall of Fame inductees have played in the WU 17 tournament. Current superstar players like Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, Nathan MacKinnon, Alexander Ovechkin, Patrick Kane, Bo Horvath, Matthew and Brady Tkachuk and many others have also competed in the tournament in recent years.

Sarnia Exhibition Game included in the Full Tournament Ticket Package.
All Tournament games will take place solely at Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia. The Preliminary Round Robin Tournament game with began November 3rd ,4th, and 5th, with the Quarterfinals taking place November 7th, Semifinal November 8th and the Placement, Bronze and Gold Medal games taking place November 9th.

Tickets
All Sarnia games at Progressive Auto Sales Arena will be sold in partnership with the Sarnia Sting and their Box Office services.
Full Tournament Ticket Packages will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, September 10th with the cost ranging from $265 to $210 for adults, and $175 to $140 for kids. The Full Tournament Ticket Packages are the best value, as they include 14 games, and average between $15-$19 per game for adults, and $10-$12.50 per game for kids.
Pending availability, additional packages and individual game tickets will be made available in the coming weeks. Sarnia Sting Season Ticket Holders will be presented with a pre-sale opportunity shortly.
As an extra bonus, Tourism Sarnia Lambton and Hockey Canada encourages fans, to purchase ticket packages before Sept. 20 at 11:59 p.m. MT to be entered into a draw to win a 2025 World Juniors prize pack! As one lucky fan will win tickets and accommodations to the medal round of the 2025 World Juniors in Ottawa – including the gold medal game – along with merchandise vouchers to cheer on Team Canada in style.
