Overage Defenceman Theo Calvas Moves to North Bay in Exchange for Picks
Sarnia Sting General Manager, Nick Sinclair announced this evening that the Sarnia Sting have completed a trade with the North Bay Battalion.
Heading to North Bay in the deal is overage defenceman Theo Calvas in exchange for a 5th round selection (North Bay) in 2020 and a conditional 6th round pick (Sarnia) in 2022.
The Michigan born Calvas suited up in 96 games with the Sting after being traded from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in 2017. The 6’5″ blue liner has a career total of 150 OHL games played with 33 points and a plus 20 rating.
Sinclair comments on today’s transaction. “Theo has been a major contributor to our blueline over the past two seasons with our hockey club. He battled hard for our club night in and night out, helping to lead a young group in his time here. On behalf of the entire Sarnia Sting organization I want to thank Theo for all of his hard work and dedication to our team and wish him nothing but the best with the Battalion. “
Calvas will return to Sarnia to face the Sting when the Battalion visit the Progressive Auto Sales Arena on February 22.
