GAME REPORT | Ang, Dineen, Pezzetta Lead Sting to 5-3 Win Over Spitfires
The Sarnia Sting visited the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday night. It was fresh looking Sting lineup, having added three new faces to the roster over the last week.
Jonathan Ang, Cam Dineen, and Michael Pezzetta all made their Sting debuts. And they could not have gone any better.
All three of the Sting’s newest acquisitions scored in their first game. First it was Ang, then it was Pezzetta, and then Dineen was inevitably there to complete the trio’s perfect debut.
In the first period, Ang needed about a minute and twenty seconds to get his first goal. One breakaway, one shot, and it was the most Ang goal ever. Speed, skill, and finish. Get used to that, Sting fans.

Not one to be outdone, veteran Sting forward Drake Rymsha became the third member of the team to hit the twenty-goal mark this season. Rymsha finished off a textbook tic-tac-toe passing play executed with Jordan Kyrou and Adam Ruzicka.
Back to the new guys, next up, it was Michael Pezzetta’s turn. Pezzetta redirected a point shot from Sting defenceman Theo Calvas. Using some quick hands, the former Sudbury Wolves captain got his first as a member of the Sting. It was 3-0 for Sarnia after one.

Less than a minute into the second, Dineen completed the new players’ goal scoring trifecta. Dineen took a pass out front of Windsor goalie Michael DiPietro, and promptly buried it into the net.

Sting forward Jordan Ernst scored our fifth goal of the night just as the second period wound down. It was Ernst’s team-leading twenty-second goal this season.
Curtis Douglas, Daniel D’Amico, and Cole Purboo scored for Windsor.
In goal, Justin Fazio made twenty-five saves on twenty-eight shots against. Fazio recorded his twenty-fourth win of the year.

The Sting look to sweep the home-and-home tomorrow night. Sting legend Steven Stamkos will have his number raised to the rafters ahead of the game. Fans are encouraged to allow an extra few minutes of travel preparation to be in their seats for the 7:00 PM ceremony.
