Preseason Kickoff Will Deliver a Taste of What’s to Come

Excitement builds as Kingston Frontenacs clash with Ottawa 67’s at Leon’s Centre in the team’s first preseason game of 2023. The puck drops on the Sunday afternoon tilt at 2:00pm and doors open at 1:00pm.
This will be the first time the Kingston Frontenacs take the ice as a team since completing their 2023 training camp on Friday,September 1st. This will also be the first game of the 2023 preseason schedule for the Ottawa 67’s.
Since 2015, the Frontenacs and 67’s have squared off against one another 14 times in exhibition play. In those tune up games, Kingston holds an 8-5-0-3 record. Ottawa enters action with a two game win streak over the Frontenacs in their previous two preseason showdowns.
What to Watch:

- New Faces: Recent 2023 OHL Priority Selections, Tyler Hopkins (C – #91), Ethan Weir (RW – #73) and Xander Velliaris (D – #77) are projected to take the ice for the first time as members of the Kingston Frontenacs.
- Knocking at the Door: Vann Williamson and Nolan Ling will be looking to make an impact during the 2023 preseason and secure a more permanent role on the blueline for the Kingston Frontenacs.
- Nod in Net: ? Time will tell if it will be returning goaltender Mason Vaccari or newcomer J.J Salajko that leads the Frontenacs onto the ice at Leon’s Centre in today’s preseason game. No matter who gets the crease, both netminders will look to use the opportunity to elevate their games in preparation for the upcoming season.
- Development: Preseason always gives a sneak peek into the offseason growth a player has gained. Fans can keep a close eye on all the players and see which ones have taken the next steps in their skills and development.
Tickets:
Tickets will be available at the venue box office starting at 11:00am. Fans can purchase $15.00 all-inclusive general admission tickets to attend the game.
2023-24 SEASON TICKET MEMBERS can attend today’s game for free by showing their VIP Passes at the door.

Upcoming Games:
The Kingston Frontenacs will travel to the Cornwall Civic Complex on Saturday, September 9th at 7:00pm for a matchup with the Erie Otters. The Black and Gold will return to home ice at Leon’s Centre on Sunday, September 10th for a second game against the Otters on back-to-back days.
