Colts Deal Edmonds to Steelheads for Picks
Barrie Colts General Manager & Head Scout Jason Ford announced today that they have completed a trade with the Mississauga Steelheads.
The Barrie Colts are sending goaltender, Kai Edmonds to the Mississauga Steelheads in exchange for a 2ndRound Pick (BAR) in 2023, 4thRound Pick (SAG) in 2020 and a 7thRound Pick (SAG) in 2020.
Edmonds, 18 years old, has played 51 career OHL games, all with the Colts. The Carlsbad Springs, ON native went 9-4-1 in his rookie year with Barrie, posting a 3.48 GAA and a 0.888 Sv% in 2017-18. He followed that up with an 11-16-1 record last year to go along with a 3.53 GAA and a 0.896 Sv%.

Coming back to the Colts are three good draft picks in the coming drafts, including Barrie re-acquiring their 2ndround pick in 2023.
It won’t be long before Edmonds and the Steelheads will take on the Colts. The first meeting between the two teams will take place in Barrie’s 4thgame of the season on September 28that home, followed by five more times during the regular season.
