The Barrie Colts are looking for motivated, passionate students ready to gain real, hands-on experience inside a professional Ontario Hockey League franchise during the 2026–27 season.

Our internship program offers more than a resumé line — it’s an opportunity to work alongside experienced sports professionals, contribute to a live game-day environment at Sadlon Arena, and make a measurable impact on an OHL organization. Interns receive spesified hours and a stipend applied toward their education upon successful completion.

Game Day & Fan Engagement Internship

Internship Description

If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, this is the role for you. Working directly under our Game Day Supervisor with the Colts, you’ll play a hands-on role in delivering a professional and entertaining game night experience for Colts fans from opening puck drop to the final buzzer. From fan engagement activations and in-game entertainment to sponsor integrations and event operations — you’ll be in the middle of it all, every home game night.

Graphic Design Internship

Internship Description

Put your creative skills to work for a professional hockey brand. As a Graphic Design Intern, you’ll work alongside the Colts’ creative and marketing staff to develop visual content seen by across digital platforms, print materials, social media, and in-arena displays. This is a opportunity to build a real-world portfolio within a professional sports environment and contribute to a brand that matters to the Barrie community.

Community Relations Internship

Internship Description

Be the face of the Barrie Colts in the community. This internship goes beyond the arena — you’ll help strengthen the Colts’ connection with Barrie and surrounding communities through school programming, youth engagement, charitable events, and the organization’s Adopt-a-School program. If you’re passionate about people, community impact, and representing an organization with pride, this role gives you the platform to make a genuine difference off the ice.

Social Media & Communications

Working directly under the Colts Media Relations Manager, you’ll contribute to the team’s social media presence through live game coverage, content creation, fan engagement, and day-to-day platform management across a full Ontario Hockey League season. This is a high-visibility, fast-moving role ideal for students who want to graduate with real sports media experience under their belt.

Video & Photography

Working alongside the Colts media team, you’ll capture the action, energy, and stories that define a Barrie Colts season. From game-night photography and highlight footage to behind-the-scenes content and player features, this role gives you hands-on experience producing professional-level visual content in a live OHL environment.
