Winterhawks Announce Preseason Schedule
The Portland Winterhawks’ defense of the WHL Championship begins with five preseason games, starting Friday, August 30. The five games will be split between Everett and Kennewick, with all games airing live on winterhawks.com. The full preseason schedule is as follows:
Friday, August 30 vs. Spokane Chiefs (in Everett, WA), 3 p.m.
Saturday, August 31 vs. Tri-City Americans (in Everett, WA), 11:30 a.m.
Sunday, September 1 vs. Everett Silvertips (in Everett, WA), 7 p.m.
Friday, September 6 vs. Everett Silvertips (in Kennewick, WA), 11 a.m.
Saturday, September 7 vs. Seattle Thunderbirds (in Kennewick, WA), 3 p.m.
The 2012-13 regular season schedule will be released tomorrow.
Fans also won’t want to miss out on the team’s draft party Sunday, as the 2013 NHL Entry Draft is set to begin at Noon. Winterhawks fans are invited to the team’s official draft party at GameTime in Lake Oswego, hosted by broadcasters Andy Kemper and Todd Vrooman. The team will also have the Ed Chynoweth Cup on display. GameTime, an all-ages venue, is located at 17880 SW McEwan Road. Doors will open at 11:00 a.m.
In addition to the party at GameTime, Dean Vrooman and John Kirby will be hosting an all-ages party at Kenton Station, located at 8303 N. Denver Ave. Other locations showing the draft include the Jolly Roger (21 and over, 1340 SE 12th Avenue), the Jolly at John’s Landing (21 and over, 5627 SW Kelly Ave.), McGillacuddy’s (21 and over, 11133 NE Halsey St.), and Sports Page (21 and over, 8590 SW Hall Blvd. in Beaverton).
