AUDITION REGISTRATION DEADLINE – Sunday, July 30
- Applications must be received by 10:00 AM PST on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
- All candidates must register online to be considered. Registration includes:
- Completed online application and waiver
- Uploaded current headshot
- Uploaded current full-body shot
- Uploaded resume
- $35 Registration Fee

LEARN PRELIMINARY ROUTINES – Sunday, July 30
(Please arrive for registration at 10:00 AM)
- Veterans Memorial Coliseum – Georgia Pacific Room, 300 N. Winning Way, Portland, OR
- Time: 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- Arrive early to sign KOIN/Portland’s CW waivers
- Candidates will learn three routines including:
- Choreography and music for a 1-minute Preliminary Round routine
- Choreography and music for a 1-minute Finals jazz routine
- Choreography and music for a 1-minute Finals hip hop routine
OPTIONAL PRACTICES – Week of August 1-4
- LA Fitness Lloyd Center and Vega Dance+Lab are providing optional time slots at their studio for candidates to practice and prepare for Preliminaries and Finals.

PRELIMINARY ROUND JUDGING AND FINALS – Saturday, August 5
- Location details will be emailed to registered applicants
- Registration begins at 10:30 AM
- Candidates will be given time to warm-up and must come prepared to audition both routines in small groups in front of a panel of judges.
- Approximately 30-40 Finalists will be selected at the end of the Preliminary Round to continue to the Finals.
- Candidates who make it to Finals must come prepared to perform both Finals routines in small groups in front of a panel of judges.
- Auditions are closed and spectators will not be allowed. Score sheets and judges’ comments will not be made available.
TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT – TBD
- The 2023-24 Portland Winterhawks Rosebuds Dance Team will be announced in person at Finals!

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age by October 1, 2023.
- If selected as a Rosebud, you must attend all practices, games, training camps and mandatory Portland Winterhawks events. Rosebuds duties include community service events, appearances, and photo shoots.
- Must be able to attend practices every Wednesday evening for the entire season (beginning August 9, 2023; times TBD). Additional practices may be added throughout the season.
- For the month of September, mandatory practices will be held twice a week on Wednesday evenings and weekends.
- Game attendance is mandatory.
- Must have reliable transportation to practices, games, appearances, etc.
- Must meet and maintain dancing skill requirements, personal appearance, and fitness level throughout the season.
- Must abide by the other Terms and Conditions included with application materials.
WHAT TO WEAR
- Fitted, athletic wear (flesh-colored tights are permitted).
- You may wear any kind of dance shoe, sneakers or perform barefoot. Please make sure shoes have non-marking soles.
- Hair should be styled down and game ready.
- Game-night makeup.
WHAT TO BRING
- Snacks, water, makeup and hair products for touch ups. Please note that there is no extended lunch break. There will be breaks but not long enough to leave the site for food.
FORMER MEMBERS
- Former Rosebud Dancers who would like to audition, please email rosebuds@winterhawks.com to register.
- Members of the 2022-23 Dance Team who want to audition for the 2023-24 team will skip the Preliminary Round, going straight to Finals.
