Winterhawks and Winterhawks Skating Center donations
The goal of all Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club and Winterhawks Skating Center charitable activities is to promote active and healthy lifestyles among the youth of Oregon and Southwest Washington. The primary focus of these efforts is to introduce local youth to ice sports and related activities as life-long options for fitness and recreation, but requests that seek to bolster educational achievement, in addition to healthy lifestyles, will also be considered. Through our foundation, the Winterhawks Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA), the Winterhawks and the Winterhawks Skating Center produce, promote and support hockey, floor hockey and figure skating camps that reach our target community.
All donation requests are being considered.
Donation Request
We prefer the online donation request form as it is friendlier on the environment and saves you postage. If you must mail, please be patient as this process will take additional time.

We also offer two different community partner programs for those charitable organizations that fall outside of the WAHA Foundation parameters.
Fundraising Program
The Winterhawks’ Group Fundraiser program is a great way to raise money and awareness for your organization or charity of choice. Currently, many schools, churches, clubs, foundations and other non-profits utilize Winterhawks games as fundraising tools. Based on the amount of money you would like to raise and your target demographic, you can pick your own fundraising amount. $5 of every ticket goes straight to your organization. To learn more about this program, please call 503.236.HAWK (4295) today and a friendly Winterhawks Account Manager will guide you through the process.
Community Sponsor Program
As businesses, the Winterhawks are able to partner with local charities and non-profit organizations thanks to the thousands and thousands of people who purchase Winterhawks tickets each and every year. In essence, our ticket buyers become community sponsors who, through their purchases, enable us to give back.
For every ten group tickets purchased by a community sponsor, we are able to donate four seats (up to a maximum of eight per season per community sponsor or person) to an upcoming Winterhawks game to the community sponsor’s charity of choice. Many recipient charities use the four donated tickets as auction items, door prizes at fundraising events or donor gifts.
If you, your business or organization would like to become a community sponsor for a local charity or non-profit organization, please call 503.236.HAWK (4295) today and a friendly Winterhawks Account Manager will share details with you. If you are a charity, non-profit, fundraiser or auction chairperson, committee member or coordinator we suggest asking your members to consider participating as a community sponsor. Hundreds of businesses and organizations every year utilize Winterhawks games for team building events, client entertainment, employee gifts and a fun way to blow off some steam with friends, family and co-workers. All community sponsors will be recognized on the jumbotron the night of their game as a special attendee.
All Community Sponsors must meet the following criteria:
1. All group orders must be confirmed a minimum of 24 hours prior to the day of the game and Thursday prior to any weekend games.
2. Include date, location and a brief description of the charitable event
3. How the donation will be used (silent auction, door prize, raffle)
4. Name, address and phone number of contact person for the organization
5. Federal tax ID number
6. Where to send the donation
7. Limit one donation per hockey season please, per charity.
8. Email works best, please, as it’s easier on the environment. Please email to [email protected].
The Portland Winterhawks receive numerous Community Sponsor donation requests and we will do our best to accommodate all of them in a timely fashion. Community Sponsor requests will be given consideration during the regular season only. A maximum of eight tickets will be provided per season, per community partner, if the community partner meets the above criteria. To qualify for the four free tickets (up to a maximum of eight per year per community sponsor/person) YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR WINTERHAWKS ACCOUNT MANAGER with the information outlined above via email. The Portland Winterhawks reserve the right to refuse any donation requests and community sponsor requests if the organization or person is unable to meet the parameters outlined above and/or the spirit of the program.
Thank you for your interest in Winterhawks hockey, the Winterhawks Skating Center, WAHA and our charitable and community programs.
