The second period saw the lead shrink to 6-5 before Brayden Burke tied things up, 6-6, in the third. Lane Zablocki put the Pats back in front before former Pat Colton Kroeker scored twice to post a hat-trick and give Lethbridge a late 8-7 lead. Zablocki, not to be outdone, capped off his own hat-trick to tie the game 8-8 and force overtime. The Pats put seven shots on goal in overtime and hit two posts, but needed a shootout to come away victorious with Austin Wagner scoring the game winner in the 9-8 win.
The Pats’ seven game win streak is their longest since the 2007-08 season when they won seven in a row twice in the regular season. The last time the Pats won eight straight was the 2001-2002 season when they won nine in a row from Nov. 17 to Dec. 5, 2001. (Courtesy Kevin Shaw)
