Pats win first of the season in a shoot-out
Regina, Saskatchewan – A pair of vetern defencemen cured what ailed the Pats tonight, they pick up their first win of the season 4-3 over the Saskatoon Blades in a shoot-out.
r
17 year-old rookie goaltender Dawson Guhle won his first ever WHL start, stopping 29 of 32 Blade shots as well as denying Derek Hulak and Burke Galloimore in the shoot-out. Matt Strueby had a fantastic night notching a pair of goals (his 2nd and 3rd of the season) and had the shoot-out winner. while Tomas Hricina potted his first goal of the season.
r
Specialty teams was key as the Pats penalty killers were a perfect 10 for 10 killing penalties, while the power play didn't get a chance to get things going with just two attepts. Matt Delahey and Colten Teubert were fantastic in their return to the Pats, grinding down the Blade forwards and making things easy for the rookie goaltender.
