Lead Up: Pats Run Into Hot Goalie
The Pats rode into Cranbrook on a high after their first win on Wednesday. Kootenay Ice goalie, Mackenzie Skapski, brought the Blue and White right back down turning out a stellar 19 save performance in his team’s 4-1 over Regina. Despite controlling much of the flow in the first and third periods, penalties got the best of the Pats again as the Ice scored twice with the man advantage.
Loving The Arena?
The Pats weren’t afraid of the Tigers’ den last season, taking two victories from Medicine Hat when on the road.
Streaking
Pats forward Trent Ouellette is on a three game goal scoring streak. He has four points over that stretch to tie him for the team lead in points. Two more goals and Ouellette will match his total of five last season.
Quality Time in the Sin Bin
Henry Hardarson may only have two WHL games to his name, but it only took one (vs. Kootenay) for him to take over the team lead in penalty minutes. His two fights and surrounding penalties totaled up to fourteen minutes last night.
First Start
The statistics may not show it, but Teagan Sacher had a fairly strong showing in his first WHL start. Sacher made 18 saves, some in spectacular fashion in last night’s game.
