PREVIEW: Six Games In Nine Days Starts Tonight In Prince Albert
Regina, Sask. – The Regina Pats play the first of two games this weekend as they travel to Prince Albert to take on the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. inside the Art Hauser Centre.
The Pats begin the first of six games in nine days tonight in Prince Albert. The club has won three of their last five contests (3-1-1) and are 7-3-1 over their last 11 games since January 8.
The Pats are coming off a impressive 8-4 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday on home ice in front of their third straight sellout. Connor Bedard completed his sixth hat-trick of the season and the eighth of his career in a five point game (3G-2A). Borya Valis (1G-2A), Luke Bateman (2A), Stanislav Svozil (2A), Tanner Howe (1G-1A) and Alexander Suzdalev (1G-1A) chipped in with multi-point games while Tye Spencer and Zane Rowan rounded out the scoring. Drew Sim made 39 saves for his 21st win of the season. The final shots were 43-27 for Moose Jaw. The Pats and Warriors both went 1-2 on their respective power plays.
Meanwhile, the Prince Albert Raiders are coming off a home-and-home split against the Swift Current Broncos, losing 4-0 on the road on Friday before winning 4-1 at home on Saturday, which snapped their two game skid. In their 4-1 win, the Broncos opened the scoring and they fired back with four unanswered goals, with three in the second. Keaton Sorensen (1G-2A), Niall Crocker (1G-1A), Ryder Ritchie (1G-1A) and Harrison Lodewyk scored for the Raiders in the win while Max Hildebrand made 33 saves for his eighth win of the season. The shots were 34-21 for the Broncos. The Raiders were 1-5 on the power play and 2-2 on the penalty kill.
They are coming off a 3-2 B.C. road trip which spanned from Jan. 28 – Feb. 4. The Raiders have won their last two home games (7GF-2GA).
