PREVIEW
It’s the sixth of eight meetings between the Pats and Raiders, and first inside the Art Hauser Centre since November 23 (L, 5-0).
These two teams last met on Saturday at the Brandt Centre with the Pats winning 3-2 in a shootout. The Pats are now 2-2-0-1 against the Raiders this season, with three of five games going to overtime or shootout.
The Raiders had a 2-0 lead in the third period on Saturday before the Pats scored two goals 23 seconds apart to force overtime. After two staller saves from Kelton Pyne, we needed a shootout, and Julien Maze would score the winner, breaking Regina’s four game skid.
Pyne finished the night with 18 saves, while Raiders goaltender Dimitri Fortin made 29 saves. Keets Fawcett and Cameron Kuzma scored for the Pats while Brayden Dube and Lukas Dragicevic scored for the Raiders. The final shots were 32-20 for the Pats. Regina went 1-3 on their power play and 1-2 on their penalty kill.
The Raiders were last in action on Sunday as they finished off their three-in-three weekend with a 4-3 overtime win over the Saskatoon Blades at the SaskTel Centre. Justice Christensen’s second of the game was the overtime winner. Tomas Mrsic and Riley Boychuk scored the others, and Max Hildebrand made 40 saves, as the Raiders improved to 6-0-0-1 over their last seven games.
